The origins of Gwyn Jones Funeral Directors trace back to an era of genuine
community service. Initially, Gwyn Jones laid the foundation of his legacy by
establishing a petrol service station in the 1950s, coupled with a local taxi service
that quickly became a staple of Llansamlet.
Yet, it was Gwyn's venture into
becoming a Carriage Master, with a fleet that included a hearse and two short
wheelbase limousines, that steered the path towards a new calling.
These vehicles,
initially intended for weddings and local funeral directors, became the seeds from
which the full spectrum of funeral services grew, underpinned by Gwyn's growing
reputation as a trusted, compassionate figure in the community.
The transition to funeral services was a natural progression for Gwyn, driven by
community need and personal dedication. Deciding to focus solely on funerals

This dedication saw the
closure of the petrol station, a move that allowed Gwyn, along with Marilyn and Brian,
to pour their hearts into building a funeral service renowned for professionalism and
exceptional care across Swansea and beyond.

ample parking, and full disabled access, ensuring a serene and accessible space for

Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD).
Operating under the stringent codes of
